Buckingham Palace and Changing of the Guard

On Saturday we caught the train to London - the purpose of the trip was to go and see "The Lion King" - our daughter's 10th Birthday treat.
Before we got to the theatre we caught a taxi (what luxury) to Buckingham Palace.
It is always nice to experience a taxi ride through The City.

As we were going to see "The Lion King" we looked to see how many lions we could see and found this one.

A photograph of hubby and our daughter in front of the Queen Victoria Memorial.

Another lion!

The Changing of the Guard commences.

It was wonderful to watch but somehow I prefer the guards when they are wearing their red coats.

A few more photographs of this ancient tradition.

And in the blink of an eye - it was all over!

The crowds dispersed.

A last snap shot of Buckingham Palace before we ventured into St. James' Park where we saw the wonderful squirrels eating out of peoples hands and posing for the cameras!

More about that in a later post.

Until next time.

June.
