Book Illustrations

In yesterdays' post I showed an illustration from a childrens' book. I decided that I would dedicate todays' post to these fabulous illustrations.

Most of the ones here were the work of Eileen Soper who did a lot of the illustrations for Enid Blyton books. If you pick up an old copy of The Secret Seven or The Famous Five then you will see her black and white illustrations as well as the lovely colourful front covers that these books had.

I like the inquisitive look on the dogs face and his eager intent to get at the prickly ball!

A busy farmyard!

Aren't those sheepdog puppies adorable!

Let's play fetch!

That's all for today.

Until next time.

June.

  1. Hello June, Welcome to the world of blogging - it can be addictive you know! The illustrations in children's books are wonderful with all the beautiful details and Enid Blyton was a personal favourite of mine as a child. Thank you for sharing the photos of your recent trip, what a magical place, and of your charming home. I shall look forward to seeing many more lovely photos! Clare
