We Go To The Water Meadows Again ...

Hello fellow Bloggers! Yesterday the sun was shining and it was very hot! Swelteringly hot to be exact! I don't like it when it gets too hot and you get all sticky and bothered. The sedums in the front garden didn't appreciate the weather too much either - they looked pretty miserable but by night-time when it got cooler they perked up! A bit like me!

We ate al fresco - nothing special just ham salad with new potatoes but I always think that eating outside in the warm weather makes the food taste nicer!
After dinner we decided to take the dogs for another walk in the water meadows as they can get into the water and cool down.

It was a lovely evening. We saw marsh marigolds and water irises!

The irises weren't open when we were here only a few days ago! All the ones that had opened were far away and I had to use the zoom lens on my camera! So no close ups!

There were also hundreds of these tiny flowers. Does anyone know what they are?

It was all quiet and peaceful!

I came across a solitary aquilegea and had to take a photo!

I am so pleased with myself for being able to get out and about after being indoors for almost four months now. I have always been a person that goes out and about a lot and being stuck indoors has been really hard. I never imagined that I would be scared of leaving the house but it was with some trepidation that I ventured out for our first walk! Anyhow, I have got over that hurdle! As Our Daughter commented "I know you're getting better mum - you've got your camera in your hand!"

The weekend is upon us and it promises to stay hot! Have a great one!

Until next time,

June.

  8. I'd love to have a little wander around the water meadows now I've seen your recent photots. The little flower is, I think, common water-crowfoot. Google it to be sure perhaps, there are different types of water-crowfoot so I'm not completely sure but I think your plant is a type of it!
