Another Post ... Deja Vu!

On Sunday morning we woke up early and seeing that it was once again beautiful weather what better than to take the dogs for a walk! Where should we go? Decisions, decisions ...
A re-visit to Winkworth Arboretum near Godalming in Surrey.
As we drove into the car park a beady eyed young person shouted from the back of the car - "Mum, there's one of those red and white toadstools you told me to look out for over there!" And there was, it even looked as if it's had its own front door!  How it managed to survive in the car park was down to pure luck and observant drivers! We spotted a few which hadn't been so lucky!

We admired some berries on the way down to Badger's Bowl - the area where most of the red maples can be found in Autumn. The last time we visited a few weeks ago mostly all the trees which you would expect to be in their Autunmnal hues were still green - the weather has been so mild! Some of the bushes in our garden seem to have buds appearing on them! Mother Nature has been freaked out by this weather and doesn't quite know what to make of it all!

Maple seeds!

I saw this face in the tree! Can you spot it - it looks like an old man with a big chin!

We came across a sculptured tree trunk!

Still many of the trees were green but this one was a lovely golden colour.
There were many fantastic red ones too!

Our Daughter was in her element climbing the trees!

Some more seeds!

The Other Half with the dogs! They were pretty shattered by this stage!

I didn't realize that the trunk of the monkey puzzle tree had spikes on it. I thought it was only the branches - I now know different!

We saw thousands of berries!

Some fantastic coloured leaves!

We sat awhile to admire the landscape!

More maple seeds!

At one point we thought that we'd lost Our Daughter! We looked to the left and to the right and then heard a voice from above say "I'm here!"

The people in the boat house are pointing at the fish in the lake! We spotted three whilst we were looking but after a while Our Daughter commented that we might only have seen the one swimming past on three occasions! There is logic to the argument!

We had a quick lunch at the cafe and then returned home to plant the flowers we had bought yesterday at the Garden Centre in a tub and to cook Sunday dinner before sitting down to watch the final episode of Downton Abbey!

Until next time,

June.
