Fowey - Day Six, Part One

Well, what to do on our sixth and final day in Fowey - a trip on the Bodmin and Wenford Railway followed by a de-tour onto Bodmin Moor.

We caught our train and went for a very short ride! Only 15 minutes!

We arrived at the end of the line - the normal practice is for the train to immediately turn around and return to Bodmin. Due to an unforsen problem on the line to had to wait while this was resolved.

It was a gloriously hot day. In the train we told Our Daughter that this was how hot carriages could be in days before air conditioning, etc! The only ventilation being to open the window!

Back at Bodmin! We head for the cafe - it had stopped serving lunch at 2.00 p.m. It was just gone 2.00 p.m! We took a quick trip around the station before deciding that the best thing to do would be to find a shop that would sell pasties, fruit and drink so that we could take these with us onto the Moor.

First of all though a quick trip around the station!

Another photo of the train we had our ride in!

And then we were gone - to find some lunch and Bodmin Moor!

Until next time,

June.
