Boys Together

"Well, that was a Father's Day to remember" said the Other Half "How many pees and poos did I clean up!"
Last year it was glorious sunshine on Father's Day and we visited a National Trust property. Yesterday it poured down which meant that this little fella stayed indoors. He just could not get the hint where to do his business despite the numerous times he was placed on the newspaper in the corner.
Today as it wasn't raining he got his first taste of the garden. Ours is a small garden but he was pretty overwhelmed to start with and just sat on the patio!

Not for long though as both boys started to play rough and tumble.
Charlie could quite literally squash little George - I'm amazed how gentle he is. George spends half his time suspended from Charlie's beard and nibbling his ears!

On Friday night having picked up George we went to Pet City and bought a basket, blanket, some food and two squeaky toys for the puppy to play with. Has he played with them - has he heck! He's played with things that were here already - empty loo roll holders and an old ball of Charlie's. Just like children! You spend a fortune on a toddler at Christmas and they play with the box rather than what's inside.

George is very playful and seems to have a bit of a fetish about slippers, especially Our Daughters pink ones!
Charlie was always quite big even as a puppy and because he's so long he wasn't that fast. This little rascal is in between your legs all the time and I'm sure it's only a matter of time before someone trips over him or he gets an accidental kick. That phrase "Under your feet" is him to a T.

I am truly grateful to Charlie for being such a gentleman. I'm sure he wasn't too happy to start with when he saw George. He had that sort of look on his face - "I hope you're not going to get rid of me. Is that the new model!"

It was lovely to see them playing together in the garden. I couldn't take many photos as they were just too fast for me to capture them on camera.
In the above photo I think Charlie's thinking "I'm going to play with my stick now. I've just about had enough of having my chin and ears used as playthings."

We gave George a bath yesterday - I don't think he's quite got the hang of it, do you?

Looks like butter wouldn't melt.
Hope you all had a good weekend inspite of the rain.
Thankyou for all your lovely comments on the last post. I also have a new follower - "Hello!"
I'd better go - there's very little noise from the lounge which hopefully means that both dogs having had a run around the garden are asleep in their baskets or it could mean they've been up to mischief and are laying low!

Until next time.

June.

  2. Isn't toilet training fun. I'm kind of glad to hear we're currently going through similar experiences! Hope it doesn't last for too long though...
